Yesterday was ASLA Garden Gals monthly meeting. We traveled to Arbor Gate Nursery in Tomball where the Houston Chronicle Plant/Garden Columnist spoke to us and answered many many questions. A gentleman from Portland,OR was there also talking about fungi and soil, particularly Texas soil. It was informative and lasted about an hour.5...Then we shopped and that of course was overwhelmingly fun because there is such a wonderful selection. Arbor Gate is definitely one of my favs and I'll go there again and probably again. We went into Tomball proper, old town, and had lunch at a really cute restaurant just at the railroad crossing called Whistle Stop. There were about 21 of us, so I could only load 5 pics, there will be more. Anyway, after a great lunch we headed home and stopped at Teas Herbs & Orchids nursery. That was o.k. - not like Arbor Gate and maybe a return trip will be in order. The folks were very nice there in helping us. We have alot of really sharp gals who are knowledgeable and it's really fun and helpful with my gardening. check the next post for more pics.
