Oh what fun! The Divas in downtown Montgomery. Believe it or not, we have some of the best antique and "stuff" stores. Something for everyone and particularly if you like glitz, glam and bling. One of our (my) favorite stores was and is, The Liberty Bell. Absolutely terrific stuff and I had a great time doing some up-coming birthday shopping for several friends. Really lush stuff. We visited about 4 shops plus the Decorating Center. (who knew?). Lunch was at a darling winery called Cork This, which is run by 2 young and very knowledgeable gals. The lunch was catered by Rabbit Run Tea House, another Divas favorite. One of my carpool friends is a local writer who also is a long time Montgomery resident. Jackie was able to give us alot of insight to the history of old Montgomery, including the shop we visited that was the original post office and soda fountain back in the 1800's. Imagine that. and the post office boxes remain along with the soda fountain. Seems as tho the Postmaster was also the soda jerk of Montgomery. How cool is that.
All in all, a long but fun day. Most of us were pooped by the time we finished but happy with all our purchases.
Weekend thought from T. S. Eliot "Humor is also a way of saying something serious".
Enjoy the weekend (isn't this a pretty color?)
