On Monday afternoon from noon till 4:00 p.m I volunteer at our community hospital in the Cath Lab Waiting Area. I usually do not take my cell phone to the hospital but I didn't take my watch so I needed to be able to keep up with the time. Having a few seconds when the room was suddenly empty of people, I snapped a few pics of the waiting area. It's very comfortable, clean and unless there are many people, stays relatively cool. One of my fellow volunteers mans the morning shift and another volunteer comes by in the afternoon for a cup of coffee and to bring new reading material. I really enjoy my volunteer time at the hospital and it leaves me with a good feeling of "paying it forward" to my community.
My thought from Mahatma Gandhi "There is more to life than increasing its speed" really comes to mean something when I visit with the families waiting for loved ones to have procedures.
