Ordinarily, I would never do this, but there really was not any traffic and I couldn't resist, after I stopped laughing. You usually see signs that say "Driver does not carry more than $50)...The .99 Only Store truck that was ahead of me on the road the other day had a sign on the very back of the truck that indicated "Driver carries no more than .99 only". Perfect! Or at least my sense of humor thought it was very clever.
And I was driving fairly slow, wish I could have gotten closer.

Sister Barbara
Congrats to my sister Barbara for her 20 years of service as a Volunteer at Women's Hospital in Houston, TX. 99% of the 20 years has been a Wednesday and she is probably the longet serving volunteer at Women's. Barbara is one of the most laid-back, not in the spotlight type people I have ever known and several years ago when she was elected President of their auxiliary, I never knew about it till several years later.
Job well done Sister Dearest. You deserve the honors. Hope I can live up to your standards and make it 20 years at CRMC. OMG, I would really be an old folk at that thought....who knows? :-)

Collector/Collection?
No sooner had I returned home than one of my best gal-pals had a gift for me. Rosie is one of my favorite friends and we always have a lot of fun when we travel for gaming trips and hanging out. She found another cane for me, just in time for the upcoming Fourth of July. Red, white and blue. Perfect for all of the functions coming up, I'll be stylin' for sure. Since I wanted to photograph it for this blog, I decided to showcase all of my other 9 canes. In bright colors, there they are. Still have a few I'm hunting for, maybe I'll luck into them one day. Really need a cane holder rather than hanging them on the kitchen bar. Thanx Rosie, you are indeed a thoughtful friend.

Would you believe?
Welcome Summertime - It's the Summer Solstice 2012 - Longest day of the year and WE are having a slight cool front. Everyone in the Northeast and other parts of the US are suffering extreme heat and heat indexes to match. Today was a pleasant 70 degrees. How cool is that! We also have been fortunate to have plenty of rain yesterday and today. The Lake is lookin' good and I noticed some people fishing today in the rain. Of course, they say that is when the fish are running. We will start the countdown to fall tomorrow. Just in time for my son, Jonathan's birthday. Happy Happy Jon and many more.

The Graduate!
Just home yesterday from a Graduation weekend for my wonderful, talented, kind, smart, funny, etc etc etc grandson. Being with the family was as always a happy time and seeing Ryan excited with all of the activities was great. Plenty of food, family, fun and happiness was the order of the weekend. Ryan will start college in September but for now, and him - it's SUMMERTIME and the living is great. Best wishes always my fine young man.

A beautiful Saturday (last Saturday)(I'm a little behind but...) for 1st Saturday in Montgomery. The vendors were out with all their stuff and you can see that they are planning already for the holidays, i.e., "Christmas in July". Always a fun day.
I'm behind in my blogging .....primarily because I always like to add pics and I've had trouble recently with downloading my photos. Went to my trusty iYogi friends and found out I needed a usb cable. Found one on line and ordered it, supposedly a 10 day turnaround for delivery via snail mail. Received it yesterday and lo and behold, it came from The Cell Phone Shop in Hong Kong. Plugged it in and viola, problem solved. Here I have spent so much time being frustrated. And it was as simple as a $2.99 purchase. Now, back to blogging and pic taking.
